After 22 years in finance and investments, I founded Lariat Wealth Management in 2021 to provide tailored financial guidance and investment management to individuals, families, non-profits and institutions.   

Personal finance, the financial markets and investing can be overwhelming and confusing, or simply take too much time to deal with.  There are so many products to choose from, perplexing jargon and a chaotic feel to the markets.  The stakes are high – you’ve worked extremely hard for what you have – and you want to be sure that you and your family are financially secure and you’re able to achieve your financial goals. 

At its simplest, my job is to help clients organize and understand their financial situation, establish financial goals and invest for the long-term.  Along the way, you’ll receive ongoing, understandable, objective advice and information about what is happening in the financial markets and how it impacts you.   My aim is to help clients throughout their lives, particularly during major transitions, such as the death of a loved one, retirement or divorce.  I also focus on the next generation, helping children understand investments and the importance of investing and compounding long-term.

I’ve spent my career in the financial world, starting off with project and structured debt origination on Wall Street, and then as a mergers and acquisitions investment banker in Denver, where we helped entrepreneurs sell businesses they had built.  Next, I spent over a decade as equity analyst in institutional asset management. I was responsible for conducting intensive research on companies, interviewing management, preparing financial models and forecasts, and assessing valuation, or how much a business is worth, and providing investment recommendations.  I covered companies of all sizes in the US and Europe and worked with highly talented investment professionals.  During this time, I earned a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter, which is a professional certification for investment management professionals which certifies a high level of competence and ethics.  It entailed 3 years of intensive study and passing 3 challenging, comprehensive exams, the last of which I took right after having my daughter.  I wasn’t getting very much sleep at the time!

I moved to a wealth management firm in 2015 to work directly with individuals, families and smaller foundations and non-profits. I loved helping people understand their specific financial situation and goals and explaining the markets and their investments to them.  It gives me tremendous personal satisfaction to be able to leverage my background and experience to help clients invest thoughtfully for the long-term. Ultimately, my goal is to provide clients with a sense of relief and confidence in their financial well-being and direction.

I’ve been lucky to have had an incredible education, wonderful mentors throughout my career, great friends and family and useful and rewarding work, and giving back to others is important to me.  I’ve been honored to serve on a variety of Boards, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, the Genesee Fire Protection District, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education and currently serve on the Board of Trustees for the University of Northern Colorado.  I’m proud to be able to support these institutions, which are doing so much good for all of us.

Launching Lariat Wealth Management is the culmination of a lot of hard work. I have been, and continue to be, assisted and advised by new and old friends, wonderful new collaborative partners and by my family. Throughout this process, my husband Carlton and daughter Cara have been constant, enthusiastic and hilarious supporters.   I’m tremendously grateful.
